In 1970’s West Cork, the piercing eyes of the Sacred Heart icon look down on every household.

Mikey escapes their gaze by spending his days in the freedom of the forest. It’s here he meets Pidgey, whose unique brand of bird-brained chaos appeals to Mikey, and the two become firm friends. There’s just one problem. Back home, Mammy rules the roost with an iron hand and a clutch of rosary beads. Mikey must do all he can to keep Pidgey concealed.

When the clock strikes six, the pealing of the Angelus beckons a reluctant Mikey home.  As he kneels for family prayers, he’s horrified to witness Pidgey bursting into the room and heading straight for Mammy’s Sacred Heart.

What happens next will change things for Mikey forever.

From the BAFTA-winning Lighthouse Studios comes Póg mo Pigeon, the studio’s first release from its slate of original content.
