BERYL - Inventor
Part trailblazing visionary, part tipsy alchemist, our madcap protagonist is intellectually curious about life and not above licking a frog just to “see what happens.” Helps Thaddeus solve murders in exchange for cash, independence, and the chance to test her theories in the field.
THADDEUS - Detective
A man-child with mommy issues so deep Freud himself would’ve walked out mid-session, Thaddeus is Beryl's hapless detective brother who only secured the role through nepotism. It's really Beryl behind every well-deduced murder case.
MORTIMER - Pathologist
Part-time pathologist, full-time graverobber. A great source for corpse clues and questionable health advice. He also seems to have a crush on Beryl — or maybe he just wants to dissect her — it’s hard to tell.
PEEP - Chimney Sweep
An unreliable rooftop witness, Peep babbles manic “intel” about everything he sees. Beryl’s job: separate the truth from the soot-covered nonsense. Our job: issue a public safety warning.
